  On the 10th and 11th of May 2004 the trial against the political prisoner Juan Ramon (JuanRa) Rodríguez Fernández will take place in the spanish national court in Madrid. His trial starts after a more than two-year period of detention. First from Jan. 2002 till Oct 2003 in Dutch prisons in Vught and Amsterdam and since then in the prison Soto del Real in Madrid. Juanra is being charged of cooperation with an armed group. The prosecuter will probably demand a sentence of 9 nine years against JuanRa.

• October 23 2003, Juanra has been extradited to the Spanish state today!

• This afternoon we heard that Juanra has been extradited to the Spanish state. He was put on the plane, without informing his lawyer in advance, like they promised. It was prohibited by Minister Donner (Justice) to notify Juanra's lawyer Victor Koppe on the moment of the actual extradition. We don't know where exactly Juanra has been transported to, neither in which prison he will be kept. It is most likely this will be in or near Madrid because this is where the National Court of Justice is seated which will deal with his case. We will inform you as soon as we have more information. It is also unknown whether Juanra will be sent directly to a "normal" prison or if he will be in isolation for the first five days.

• October 7 2003, Juanra loses last court case
  The courts, ministry of justice and all the political parties of the Netherlands have turned a deaf ear to the hard facts of this case for more than a year and a half now. All of the information from Spain is accepted and even justified without question. Now that all of the available measures in the Netherlands have been exhausted, Juanra will be extradited to Spain and the Netherlands will become complicit in torture and political repression in Spain.

• Sept. 18 2003, Blockade of the Dutch parliament: Free Juanra, arrest Garzon!
  In an action today, activists chained themselves to blocks of concrete, thereby blocking the Parliament. It was a protest against the Dutch government's blatant disregard for human rights. But also against the Spanish prosecutor Garzon, who has imprisoned hundreds of activists and outlawed countless newspapers and political organisations. He was invited to speak at a congress on "human rights and terrorism". People who willingly violate human rights should not speak at conferences; they should stand accused in front of a court!!

• Sept. 11, Solidarity action for Juanra
  In an action, today activists have revealed several monuments in honor of the human rights. This happened at the Hofvijver, a pond right next to the Parliament. These fundamental human rights are being threatened by the so-called 'War on Terror'.

• July 7, Minister decides: Juanra to be extradited to Spain

• June 18, Juanra has been transferred to a prison in Amsterdam.
  He requested this some months ago and now he's there. Untill now it looks much better. Although the first two weeks he will be in a special unit for new people. He's now on the 4th floor of the prison and able to look over the wall to the trains at Spaklerweg and teh rest of Amsterdam. More news later. Here's his new adres!

  As was made known today, the Supreme Court's verdict on the matter of Juanra's appeal against the decision of the Amsterdam district court court to allow his extradition shall be postponed until March 11. We expect to receive more information about this postponement in the near future.
